Popeyes copycat simple Mac and Cheese

Stop making boxed ones and try this recipe for a gooey bowl of delicious Mac n Cheese

Ingredients
  

  • 500 gms Macaroni
  • ΒΌ cup Butter
  • 3 tbsp All purpose flour maida2 tbsp
  • 3 cup Milk
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 400 grams Cheddar cheese Shredded
  • 4 tbs oil

Instructions
 

  • Boil the elbow macaroni for 10-15 minutes (till it turns al dente) with water, salt 1tsp and 2tbsp oil. Once cooked, drain the left over water with the help of a sieve and set aside.
  • Melt butter in a saucepan pan with 2 tbsp oil (this will prevent butter from burning).
  • Add flour to the melted butter and make a roux.
  • Remove from the stove and add in the milk gradually and whisk thoroughly. After mixing well put the pan again on a stove over medium flame and let it thickens.
  • Keep it whisking with the help of a hand whisk. Once the sauce starts bubbling add in shredded cheese.
  • Cook until cheese completely melts while stirring on and off (this will prevent the base from burning).
  • Now add salt to taste if needed and boiled macaroni, cook for another 2-3 minutes then close the stove.
  • Serve Hot and Enjoy.
